Naked Edge Real Estate agents are often asked about the role REIWA plays. The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) is the industry’s peak body and represents over 1,100 real estate agencies. All Naked Edge Real Estate agents are accredited, licensed members of REIWA.
REIWA has one of the longest histories of any Western Australian institution. It began in 1918 under the name of Auctioneers’, Land & Estate Agents’ Association of Western Australia. The name was changed to REIWA in 1944 and became known as the ‘Institute’. REIWA is a not-for-profit organisation so all money raised is put back into the Institute to provide essential services which benefit its agent members and ultimately all Western Australians who buy, sell, build, rent and renovate properties.
REIWA assists real estate agencies with a range of services including marketing, market intelligence, training and professional development, networking, agency support and advocacy. The support the institute provides benefits the wider real estate community and their clients.
REIWA Training provides information and advice for people interested in making a career out of real estate. The website also includes details and session times for the mandatory 3 point CPD training. The Department of Commerce requires every agent to attend the CPD training on an annual basis.
The REIWA website provides a place for agents to connect with one another. Agents can also gain up-to-date market intelligence and advice plus details of training, events and networking opportunities. REIWA performs the role of lobbying government on behalf of all its real estate agent members for legislative change to ensure the industry meets the needs of the community and agents.
See the REIWA website for more information about its contribution to the real estate community or ask your local Naked Edge Real Estate agent.
